Shin Jae Kim is head of TozziniFreire’s Compliance & Investigations practice and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. A recognized pioneer in Brazil’s compliance field, Shin advises boards of directors, audit committees, and senior executives on governance under stress, high-stakes internal investigations, corporate integrity, crisis management and strategic government-related matters across a broad range of industries, including highly regulated sectors.

Shin is consistently recognized as one of the leading practitioners in her field by major international legal directories. She is ranked as a Star Individual by both Chambers Global and Chambers Brazil, and is also listed in the Hall of Fame by Legal 500. She is further recognized by Latin Lawyer 250, Análise Advocacia and Análise Advocacia Mulher, and was named among the world’s leading women in investigations in the 2018 edition of Women in Investigations, published by Global Investigations Review. Shin was also recommended in Latin Lawyer’s Masters of M&A guide and is recognized by LACCA Approved/Thought Leader. In the past years, Shin received the Latin America: Thought Leader of the Year Award from Women in Business Americas, and the Lawyer of the Year Award from Best Lawyers. She was also named Lawyer of the Year Brazil by Legal 500 in 2023 and shortlisted again for the award in 2024. Earlier in her career, in 2007, she received the International Compliance Professional Award from the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics.
